MHA launches new online career center : Dec 04, 2009 Print all news articles

Feature includes new service that posts job listings on numerous health care association sites

The Minnesota Hospital Association (MHA) has enhanced its member services for recruitment and online job posting through its new MHA Career Center at www.mnhospitals.org/index/mhacc.

There, users can access both MHA's long-standing recruiting Web site, MNHospitaljobs.com, as well as a new option for extending their recruiting reach for hard-to-fill specialty positions: the National Healthcare Careers Network (NHCN).

The NHCN provides a one-of-a-kind network of professional health care association job listings. Listings sent to NHCN are automatically also disseminated to countless other specialty job posting Web sites.

For example, a posting sent to the NHCN for an anesthesiologist position would automatically also be sent to the American Hospital Association, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Public Health Association, the Minnesota Medical Association and more.

In other words, members can post an opening only once, and it will be distributed to all relevant sites too, said Richard Kreyer, MHA vice president of work force development.

"This new feature puts hospitals' job postings directly in front of the qualified prospective candidates they're trying to reach -- not in front of just general job seekers." he said.

"Many national job sites like CareerBuilder and Monster have health care career pages, but they don't market directly to specialty health care professionals."

With any paid job listing, NHCN users also can search the resume database and can use an automatic notification system to receive e-mails when new resumes are received matching the hospital's criteria.

The new MHA Career Center, with the addition of the NHCN service, made its debut Tuesday. The American Hospital Association (AHA) and the National HealthCare Career Network are partnering with MHA to offer the NHCN service.

As a promotional bonus for MHA members, through the end of January those who set up an account with NHCN can post three jobs at no charge -- a value of up to $1,450. There is no cost to set up an account, and users pay for only the number of jobs they post.

The NHCN also provides volume discounts. More information about NHCN and the promotion will be sent to members in the coming week.

MHA's MNHospitaljobs.com remains the association's main value for most postings. As always, members can post as many jobs as they like for as long as they like for one annual fee.

"Don't miss the unique opportunity to reach an exclusive audience of the industry's best and brightest health care professionals," Kreyer said.
